Prepare well before applying the epoxy

The epoxy is well engineered, in my opinion. Its self-leveling keeps the surface smooth but not too thin. However, I don't think this is a project everybody will find easy - it requires planning and following the preparation steps as suggested by the manufacturer. I did have some questions unique to my case, and the Armoglaze technical department responded and gave me guidance. So far, to the naked eye, the epoxy exceeded my expectations, and the photos illustrate the difference between the previous condition and the finish. I hope this helps anyone with questions regarding bathtub refinishing.

Never thought I could reglaze a bathtub myself, but I watched the how-to video a few hundred times and the tub turned out looking brand new. It's super durable if you prep, sand and clean it correctly. I tried those spray ones before and they don't even compare. I will definitely buy again! A+ product. It does get messy, so be sure to tape and cover everything you don't want the glaze on. Take your time and don't rush and it'll turn out professional. And no stench either.

Exceeded My Expectations - Professional Results at a Great Price

When I purchased my new home, one of the first items on my to-do list was finding a solution for my bathtub. A contractor I trust told me it looked like the realtor had used a cheap refinishing spray for staging, and it was already peeling. That same contractor recommended reglazing the tub and specifically suggested the Armoglaze bathtub refinishing kit. Full disclosure: I had him do the work because my DIY confidence wasn't quite there, but the outcome exceeded my expectations. From what I observed, the process looked manageable enough that I'd consider doing a second tub myself in the future. Not only is this a superior product, but the price is very reasonable for the quality and results. On top of that, the owner, Mikhail, was a pleasure to work with and personally took several of my calls, patiently answering my many questions. This stuff is amazing. I took a 1920s clawfoot tub, sanded it all down and got it smooth, mixed up the epoxy and poured it over like it said. The tub turned out amazing.

If you're willing to put in the time to prep you'll get an incredible result. It's expensive to replace the basin and this allowed me to get a "brand new" shower for $100 and 4 hours of my time. The trade off was worth it to me. There were cracks in the basin and someone had tried to patch it with rubberized spray paint. I scraped everything off with sandpaper before following the prep directions. Watch the video and read the instructions. Set a timer for some steps so you understand how much time you have to work: after 2-3 hours everything starts to harden. Pro tip: have rubbing alcohol, q-tips and a plastic spoon ready. When mixing both parts, set a timer for 7 minutes and stir with a paint stick, scraping the side and bottom. I used a plastic spoon to scrape the material that pooled by the drain into a cup - a game changer. Use the heat gun to smooth out bubbles once it's setting, moving quickly so it doesn't melt. If a section doesn't harden properly, support told me to scrape it out, sand with 80 grit, and apply a new coat after 24-36 hours. It came out great.

Armoglaze performed as stated. There was a delivery issue and Mike made sure there was a timely solution. The installation videos were helpful and all information is very relevant. Be vigilante on clean and prep. The surface is smooth but not slippery when wet. I love the product and transformed an old tired shower pan into a brand new brilliant looking shower at a reasonable price. I look forward to purchasing and using again. A tip I had not see but may help others: I had plenty of material left over that could not be used. Using a scale and setting aside by weight Part A and B for touch up or repairing blems is a good idea.

We have already had our tubs reglazed in the past by a handyman using a different product, yet that also started peeling. After using Armoglaze our tubs have never looked better, and I didn't even need to hire a handyman to accomplish this.

I had an old dirty fiberglass shower pan that is shiny and new now. My handyman applied it and there was virtually no odor which was helpful since I am very sensitive.
